So much going on.....

In the last few weeks I have joined the broken hearts club. I hate that club. I don't like being in it and I would be psyched if my membership were revoked forever. Well, as of yet, no such LUCK! Alas, (yes i said ALAS!) while that sector of my life is sucking, work and career are great.  I said to a friend the other day "How can life suck and be awesome all at the same time?"

On to the awesome... last week I sang a jingle for Best Buy & Old Navy. I co-wrote and sang music for ABC's promo campaigns. I got calls that 3 of my songs are up for spots in both tv and movie projects. AND....(drum roll)... My song "Life Of The Party" that I co-wrote for Charlie Wilson is his next single!!! I even heard it on the radio! Major, AWESOME milestone for lil' ol' me. It is the #1 most added song to Urban radio as well!

So... F-U EX!

Lil' Eddie's Album: Already Yours on Manhattan Records (JAPAN)

I am more than proud to have co-written 5 songs on the new Lil' Eddie Album "Already Yours" on Manhattan Records. The album which will be released 5/18/11 has already claimed the #1 spot on the itunes album chart. Eddie is not only a brother and friend, he is an inspiration to me. I love him with all of my heart. In this business, which is ruthless and political he has extended more kindness, generosity and grace to me than anyone!

Lil' Eddie soon will be taking over your radios, as an artist in addition to a songwriter! Buy the album and support great talent!!!!

You can find the album for sale on itunes!!! Our song "Momma" is also the featured song...here is a video of it:

Happy Birthday Stevie Wonder!

One night in Boston I was at my 1st Stevie Wonder concert at The Wang Center in nosebleed. Out of nowhere Stevie asked if there were any singers in the audience. I don't remember much else until I came to and found myself on stage with a microphone in my hand standing next to Stevie's incredible grand piano with a giant blue map of Africa on the top of it. He started playing "Ribbon in the Sky". I was cued in to sing the verse "This is not a coincidence but far more than a lucky chance"....and yes it was a lucky chance. I finished the song to see the entire audience on there feet...cheering, standing O...WOW! I remember hugging Stevie and not wanting to let go...again, I don't remember anything else.

A couple years later I happened to be in Sam Ash in Times Square, NYC where my boyfriend at the time worked. When Stevie came in to shop, they close down the store for him. My boyfriend, who had helped Stevie several times brought me over to him and said "Stevie, this is my girlfriend Deanna..the one I told you about who sang with you once"...He shook my hand I don't remember anything else.. I know I couldn't speak..and before I knew it he was pulled away.

There are great moments in ones life.. those were two of mine. Meeting the man who has inspired me most in MUSIC and has written a soundtrack to my life. I love him so much and am so thankful for him.

Happy Birthday Stevie...and many more!
